Chapter 2.5.1. General View on Wine

…and yet another new chapter about wines !

I’ll start now with a stunning Italian wine :

Grapes: Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera

Recommendation: For red meats and strong cheeses.

Serving temperature: about 18 – 20 ° C.

The possession of Dr. Cosimo Taurino benefited from the proximity of the Adriatic and Ionian Sea, through which the hot air is reduced.

This elegant, indigenous grape varieties are grown under strict income limits in order to maintain the high quality of the wines. By selecting the grapes and the most careful care during start-up and expansion of the wines amazing results.

The results are indeed excellent , well balanced wine quite high in alcohol content , 13% and if you let it “relax” for about half an hour …well , You don’t necessarily have to decant it however it will allow the wine to “open” so make sure that after opening You either leave it in the bottle to breathe for about 30 minutes or…decant it .

P.S. Oh , Yes , do use the right glass ! it’s worth it !

Rotenberg Winery presentation of New Merlot 2009 at Negresco Restaurant  ,

Very interesting venue underground at Negresco Restaurant

Tables have been set up for wine tasting

Bucharest , June 2012

Dear readers and friends  ,

A.S. In light of new events of Romania’s Public Life I’m delighted to declare that I’m not a “Doctor”….in anything. I just love Wine !

I have been invited to a beautiful event organized by Rotenberg Winery and hosted by “Negresco” Restaurant in the old city center , a very chic restaurant located near “Carul cu Bere” Restaurant – famous establishment !

Rotenberg bottle being open prior to the tasting session ( Mr. Ionel Dan being very serious about it ! )

Now , as a fan I could hardly wait to taste the new Merlot ( the 2009 vintage ) and it was such a wonderful surprise ! Once again , Rotenberg Winery has proven that is capable of creating GREAT WINES and please , do mark My words! I could see in this Merlot the high quality and its great potential ! It is quiet probable that We’ll have a huge surprise opening this particular wine in about 5-6 years !

Rotenberg Winery guests enjoy wine !

Not only did I have the chance to taste it , I had the chance to be surrounded by very interesting people , ALL wine lovers ! of course !

Few restaurants in Bucharest have had the will or the vision of having a proper wine cellar …well , “Negresco” Restaurant has one ! BRAVO !

The clear message I could see transmitted ( kind of like high-speed wireless ) across the venue was that , more and more , the Romania Wine consumers are looking more and more often towards high quality wines , wines which are well made , taken care of and treated with love ! I couldn’t be happier .

This is exactly what I/We’re looking for .

Myself in the back , thinking wine

Romania with its great wine making potential has yet to learn how to produce great wine ….there are only a handful of small Vineyards ( Rotenberg is one of them of course ) , however being so small in numbers We can not yet set a mark on the international wine market…people hear about Us , they give Us a medal or two and I’m waiting for the moment when someone from outside Romania will search with trembling hands Our Romanian Wines !
